Pre Problem With No Sound Coming From Headset
It sucks when you’re the only one and I was feeling that way yesterday. After having my Pre for only 5 days I was longer able to hear from the headset. This means that when I used my phone for Sprint Navigation, YouTube, or to make/receive calls I didn’t hear any sounds. It was horrible.
I decided not to worry about and set out to make everything right today.
When I got to the Sprint store today at 9am, I walked in and explained what happened. Apparently, I was the first one to have this problem. They were good enough to swap out my phone and send me about my merry way. Despite what everyone says about Sprint, they took care of me quickly. Even better is that since my data was backed up when my new Pre was turning on, everything made it’s way to my phone.

I had the same issue. I went to the Sprint store on Monday and the Palm rep was still there. After running the self diagnostic and showing me the reset option (hold the power key, click the ringer mute back and forth three times) everything worked fine. I think this was before the update but he said he had not seen the problem before either.
Any new device has issues. I am involved with Blackberry support with the Bold and they have significantly more issues with that device that I have heard of with the Pre. At least there was someone with Palm that I could talk to. As an enterprise, if we want to peek inside RIM’s code or find out why a problem exists, we need an act of congress.

I had the same issue today. 5 days after getting my phone when I unplugged the head phones, it never detected them being unplugged. Full resets didn’t help. Took the phone back to the store and came out with a new one about 10 minutes later.
